Kwanza with the ancestral aspect

In African traditional culture, the ancestors are considered a part of the community they have a role to play in Community Gatherings and social and cultural events. During Kwanzaa make sure you include your personal ancestors in your Libations and your prayers as well as the community exemplar ancestors.

During Kwanzaa Make sure you have a 7-Day white Candle on the floor with a glass of water to elevate your ancestors along the seven days of Kwanzaa. Kwanzaa is an opportunity to unite and educate family and community and our ancestors. Each day and each principle is an aspect of connection, healing, and a teachable moment for us and them (particularly our wounded and alienated kin).  We ask in our libations and prayers that the well and wise ancestors guide, protect uplift and educate, the unwell ancestors and us (self, family, and community) Remember, the unresolved wounds of those who came before us drive us to unknowingly repeat patterns that can create dis-ease in the mind, body, and spirit. One of the best gifts to give or receive is health and peace of mind. This is a great time for ancestral healing. Especially during this sacred time where each day in the open ceremony, the ancestors receive more light as the days grow longer. while being at a beginning of daylight's expansion is setting the tone for the coming year Ask that they help clear stagnant, unresolved energies from your lineage and open the door to a more passionate and purposeful life. Ask that they help heal ancestral wounds and narratives that may be playing out in your life and your health. Remember to involve your ancestors, in your Kwanzaa to share connection joy, and healing
