Service Description

ANCESTOR STAFF Opa iku also Called the Ara iku bambaya The ancestral staff is a tool that is a consecrated object that is used in the process of communicating with ancestors. An Ancestral ie Egun staff can be used to call or dispel Egun. Ancestral staffs are designed to communicate to the whole of one's ancestral lineage however a time a special one can be constructed just for a specific ancestor. The stick is dressed for the individual. They range from cane to staff height 30" tall to 56" but generally are as tall as the person and can be used as a walking stick to be carried by the individual as they walk in the street. This staff represents the cycle of life from Heaven to Earth and Earth to Heaven. Uses The staff is traditionally tapped on the ground during ancestral invocation and libation. Generally, it is understood that this tapping sends a signal that calls the ancestors to the parishioner thus one could and should use this tapping to add an ancestral Shrine or altar. But the staff can work by itself because this item is consecrated (beyond what an alter would have) and it can do the calling unto itself with invocation chant and singing. When you do your meditation and or prayer you have the option of calling related spirit energies by gently shaking the staff. This ringing adds a special dimension to the transmission of your intention. These traditional function staffs may be aesthetically appealing but each is different and tailored to the owner. This initiation requires a minimum of two physical meetings of approximately 4 hours each.
